The Community Mile

The Community Mile at Cheltenham’s Half Marathon is a brand new event which will take place on Sunday 1st October shortly after the Half Marathon has set off at The Racecourse, Cheltenham.

We are passionate about running and we believe that people of all abilities should be given the support they need to get active and motivated to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. THE COMMUNITY MILE is our way of giving the people of Cheltenham and across the region a chance to do just that, through running.
The Community Mile will take place at The Racecourse in Cheltenham shortly after the Half Marathon has set off at 9am. The short run will give everyone in Cheltenham, no matter what your fitness levels or ability, the chance to take part in a relaxed and fun mile long run, jog or walk in a beautiful setting surrounded by a supportive crowd.

This event really is for everyone, a chance to get together with your school mates, club, colleagues, friends and family and do something good for yourself – to get active for a healthier life! It doesn’t matter if you walk, shuffle or drag yourself around. We just want to encourage you to set yourself a challenge for the day and come alog and join us to achieve your goal.

The Community Mile will take place inside The Racecourse parameter and will include parts of the 13.1m track that the Half Marathon runners will be finishing on. So if you’re not ready for the full distance just yet, you’ll still get the chance to share the excitement of taking part in such a popular and much loved event.

We know that a mile running might be a real challenge for a lot of people. So why not get outside of your comfort zone and take the opportunity to do something amazing for a charity that is close to your heart. The Cheltenham Half has a number of charity partners that you could fundraise for by taking part in The Community Mile. Take a look at our charity partner’s page for more details.

No matter how you complete The Community Mile on the day, everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a medal and a bottle of water for your achievement.

We hope you’ll register now and join us on the 1st October with your friends and family for the first Community Mile, Cheltenham
